Greenlees Park Women’s Bowling Club was affiliated with New South Wales Women’s Bowling Association (N.S.W.W.B.A) on 21st June 1956. We celebrated our 60th anniversary in June 2016.
The Club formed part of Yaralla District Women’s Bowling Association, which was disbanded on 31st December 2010, as only three bowling clubs formed that District. We are now affiliated with Macquarie District Women’s Bowling Association, and play District competitions (run for State) against teams from Brush Park, Carlingford, Concord R.S.L, Denistone, Ryde X- Phoenix, Rosehill and Tigers Five Dock. Also Gladesville, Hunters Hill and North Ryde R.S.L. (3 former Bennelong District Clubs)
Over the years we have won the
- Major Singles in 2011
- Triples in 2011
- Open Fours in 2012
- Pairs in 2013
- Senior Fours in 2015
During November we host a Veterans’ Day covering Veterans 70 and over from the three ex-Yaralla clubs.
Pennants are played two days per week over a period of three to six weeks depending on number of entries received. We are now playing in Grade 2. Usually Tuesdays and Thursdays.
In 2011, 2014 and 2016 we won Grade 3 Pennants with Macquarie. We have won the Mayoral Cup, an annual competition organised by Canada Bay Council in November. Men and ladies play in this competition against local bowling clubs which include
- Concord RSL
- Tigers Five Dock
- Greenlees Park
