Vale – Roger Kerr

Roger joined Briars in 1952 to play cricket. He was an opening batsman. In 1954 Roger became honorary treasurer of The Briars Sporting Club for three years and in 1956-57 won the J H Stone Trophy, which is awarded to members under the age of 25, for his outstanding contribution to the club’s welfare.

Roger also served on the cricket sub-committee for a number of years and was an excellent team man. He mainly played B Shires but was promoted in 1956 to A Shires.

Roger resigned from honorary treasurer in February 1958.
