Briars Junior U10 Rugby Team brings home the Gold!
Congratulations to the U10 Briars Junior Rugby team who won the premiership this past weekend.
The WIN was a proud moment in history for Phil England, whose grandson Cameron, a 3rd generation Briar played in the U10 team.
- Phil England, played rugby from 1970 to 1984,
- Phil’s son in law Dan Sherer played rugby from 1996 to 2000
- Phil’s grandsons Bradley now plays cricket and Cameron plays rugby for the Briars Junior U10 team, winners of this year’s premiership.
Phil’s brother in law Greg McPhee also played rugby for Briars as did Greg’s son Daniel. It certainly is a family affair as Phil’s brother, Robert (Leigh) also played rugby in the 60s/70s for the Briars and was instrumental in introducing Phil to the Briars family.
With the season now completed we want to congratulate all the Briars junior rugby players, their parents and the coaches for an awesome season of rugby and look forward to seeing everyone back in 2023!
