Greenlees Park Men’s Bowls News

Open State Pennant Finals

Congratulations to the Grade 6 Greenlees Park bowlers who competed in the State Final at Yamba last weekend. Although unable to achieve a placing in the Finals the boys played with spirit and verve. In achieving the opportunity to play against the best teams in the State, they certainly did our club proud and reinforced the growth and potential which we value at the club.

Our thanks to the motel staff and the organisers who looked after us over the 4 days.

Once again- well done Grade 6. You have left us with some priceless memories.

Anzac Day Sevice & Bowls Tournament

A solemn and respectful tribute to our fallen was held on the Keith Free Green on ANZAC Day this year. The last Post, laying of the wreath and spoken tributes to our fallen was witnessed by Men’s and women’s bowlers and members of the local community. It was wonderful to see so many participate and pay homage.

The ceremony was followed by a wonderful afternoon of bowls with Burwood Diggers and others. My thanks to all who attended and congratulations to the Divisional winners but most importantly to all who attended.

A special thanks to Wayne Comber, Bob Meyer and Rob Goldberg for the organisation of the day.
